Mike, I hate to hear that your friend from the Royals got traded? That's too bad, I wonder now who will replace the token christian role on the team?

Congrats on the book, Mike. Looking forward to reading it. Looks right up our alley around here at Trinity in Greenwich, CT.
Our Senior Minister just had his released. It may be of interest to you: Chasing Francis,

Any travel plans in the next year? I want to get out and see you and Youthfront sometime (ideally after we meet in person so you're sure I'm not a fruit ;) ).

Wow Sean, that is awesome. I just got back from Assisi and have been studying the life of St Francis for a couple of years. I am doing research to write the book... YOUR PASTOR JUST WROTE. Ha, anyway I'm sure there will be hundreds more books on this subject written. I think there are so many parallels to St. Francis' time and current sociological, theological, cultural, political, and religious dynamics. Will you be at any YS conferences this fall? I will look forward to meeting you.
Peace and Joy,
Mike

What joyful news Mike! In the near future I hope to be posting a similar message that _Flirting with Monasticism_ is done, it’s an encouragement to see you’ve reached this point.

Meeting you earlier this year in New Haven, CT, at the Emergent theology conversation, was a pleasure and I hope we will connect up at some point this fall.

Glad to hear you're digging in to St. Francis. Apparently he's one of the most written about people, so both you and Ian are in great company. YS events...probably not. Finishing up a couple of classes, 3 kids, and busy ministry season. You'd be a great "get" for the Princeton Institute of YM (April 30-May 3, 2007; http://www.ptsem.edu/iym/) which I attend (2 hours from here. It's Kenda Dean's thing. Princeton in the springtime...one of my staffers is a Pton U grad...great micro-brewery...Maybe combine it with a visit to Trinity. I'd love to host "salon" style gathering and feature you. whatdya say?

Kenda has mentioned to me in the past about the possiblity of doing something at Princeton IYM. I have to twist her arm a bit. We will be together at a couple of conferences where we are both speaking so I'll plead... If I get that way for any reason or if we can create a reason I would love to do some stuff with you. Peace.
