Vicki and I just got home from a wonderful weekend in Atlanta for the Giants vs. Braves series. Jeremy Affeldt is on the 15 day Disabled List so we got to hang out a lot. Jeremy is spending several hours a day rehabilitating a torn oblique muscle which is coming along really well. He should be back by the middle of the month ready for a run to the World Series.
The first night started with the retirement of Tom Glavine's #47 and his induction into the Braves Hall of Fame. That was very cool. The game was delayed by rain and didn't start until 9:30. The game didn't get over until nearly 1:00am because it also went into extra innings. The Giants won.
We talked a lot about theology, youth ministry, justice work and life. Jeremy and Larisa are great supporters of Youthfront and our Feed the Hunger initiative. It is amazing to watch Jeremy live life so grounded spiritually in the midst of a celebrity environment. Check out his blog here.

Hey Eric,
I'm learning bro, and you were holding me long before I wore a Giants hat. Miss you.
Peace,
