Broadway Coffee triumphs over Starbuck's

My favorite coffee shop in Kansas City called Broadway Cafe has had to go head to head during the last couple of years with Starbuck's since the corporate giant decided to open up next door.  Broadway Cafe kept doing what it has always done - make great coffee and nurture a wonderful environment.  Broadway Cafe, in the spirit of David, has taken down Goliath. YES, and it even made national news.

Avenues Bistro

Last night Vicki and I were invited to the VIP Grand Opening of the Avenues Bistro in Brookside - located on the corner of 63rd and Wornall.  We ate with Mike and Laura Crawford.  Laura's parents are one of three owners.  What a feast.  Great Food, Drink, Desert... Wow.  The location, decor, menu and atmosphere are all superb.  This restaurant is going to be hot.  Do yourself a favor and check it out.  Avenues Bistro opens to the public on Monday, August 28.

I would like to do one of these every Friday night.
