Live8 - Ashley Judd speaks about Child Prostitution

Ashley Judd just did a segment during Live8 on Child Prostitution.  She visited young prostitutes, "sex workers" in Africa.  Ashely spent time with these girls, talking with them, encouraging them to seek help.  She was very informed and sincere about her concern and desire to change the present reality of these young girls. I continue to be impressed with Ashley Judd. I recently read an interview in which she expressed a desire to live on much less of her income and give more to those in need. She spoke of an incident in which she was about to buy a shirt that cost $59, but thought of what that $59 could do for her friends in Africa, and put the shirt back and sent the money to them. This is a woman who leads by example. I hope many will follow her lead.

Wow Mary, that is so good to hear. It is certainly consistent with her demeanor during the segment that showed on Live8. Putting a shirt back that cost $59 for the reasons she did it... if so, she is a lot farther along than I am. Thanks for your comment..
