I was fortunate enough to have my second extended conversation with Jim Hampton who is a Professor of Youth Ministry at Asbury Theological Seminary. Jim did his Ph.D. at Kansas University and worked at the Nazarene Denominational Headquarters in Kansas City where we originally met each other. Jim is doing some interesting research on the relationships and working environments between Youth Pastors and Pastors that will be very helpful in understanding the dynamics involved. I asked him to critique Presence Centered Youth Ministry. He had some really good input related to the challenges that many youth pastors will have implementing the spiritual formation aspects I dealt with in my book, in the context of their existing church environments. He told me at the end of our time together that he is adding Presence Centered Youth Ministry to the Asbury Theological Seminary youth ministry curriculum.
wow...sounds awesome. Did you record it? have you used that recording deal yet?
