Mickey Rourke is simply astounding in The Wrestler (a no-brainer for an Academy Award as Best Actor). This movie is a glimpse into a way of life that I'm very insulated from. The Wrestler will break your heart if you are truly human. Vicki and I have very different opinions to how the movie ends (which leaves you to make your own conclusion). Listening to Bruce Springsteen singing The Wrestler over the credits is powerful. You can't buy Springsteen's single yet (which should be his second Academy Award for Best Song to go along with one for Philadelphia) but here it is on YouTube.

Interesting review. I thought some of that kind of imagery and references in the movie were really interesting. I saw Ram as one who desperately wanted redemption but was hopelessly trapped in his endless search for some kind of meaning that made sense. I felt such a compulsion to help this man, his daughter and his kinda girlfriend.
