My five days in Nashville at the National Youth Workers Convention were extremely busy, productive and exhausting in a good way. I started with a presentation entitled, "Youth Ministry in 3D: Cultivation of Time, Place and Space for Developing a Community of Practice." I like starting with a seminar on the first day so that I can engage with youth workers and continue the dialogue throughout the convention.
This is the third year for The Sanctuary and our awesome team did an amazing job of serving, leading fixed hour prayer, teaching learning labs, providing spiritual direction and ministering to youth workers.
Youthfront staff members Micah Thomas and Erik Leafblad joined me this year and were great help in The Sanctuary along with meeting youth workers who are interested in Youthfront stuff.
I was excited about the energy in Nashville compared to San Diego. I believe that YS is moving again, in a positive direction. I believe Youthworks will allow the NYWC to recover some of its past MOJO. It's so good to have Tic Long back. Good days are ahead.
I thought about mentioning some of the great youth workers I got to meet, hangout with and collaborate with, but I know I would leave someone out so I resisted mentioning names. I LOVE YOUTH MINISTRY... I LOVE YOUTH WORKERS.
I really enjoyed the morning lauds at dawn at NYWC this past weekend. Thank-you for inspired me for ministry and providing a sacred space amidst the chaos to encounter God the still and quiet.
